Young talented artist Nicolas with his girlfriend Marianne visits a former famous painter, who lives retired with his wife in an old monastery building. As the result of this meeting, old artist is inspired to continue his abandoned idea to paint La Belle Noiseuse, with Marianne as his nude model.
